That's a lot of sex.
So it turns out that there have been 450,000 condoms ordered for the upcoming Rio Olympics. Yes, that's 450,000 condoms that will be available to the athletes and staff.
According to
Associated Press, the International Olympic Committee will distribute the colossal amount of condoms during the Rio de Janeiro Olympics to encourage safe sex. It's actually three times more than the amount ordered for the London Games four years ago.
The increase is due to the addition of female condoms this year which will have a total of 100,000 for women, along with 350,000 condoms for men.
There are approximately 10,500 athletes and staff. That's roughly 42 condoms per person.
The condoms will be available from vending machines and through a clinic in the athlete's village.
