If someone's name is spelled incorrectly, they usually find it funny and more often than not the cup in question is posted on social media.
This means you're giving Starbucks free PR and when you think of all the other people doing the same, it really adds up.
So, the theory suggests that Starbucks employees are writing our names incorrectly in the hope of more publicity.
Although the idea is definitely a bit mad, it makes a lot of sense too and has been picked up by various news sites today.
