These names are seriously declining in popularity in Ireland

Last week, we featured some of the names declining in popularity globally and now we’ve been alerted to the monikers that are losing face in Ireland.

Information released from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) features names that were once very popular but have declined in recent years.

To compile the list, the CSO looked at names that were very popular in 1964 but have since lost their shine, so to speak.

Ideal if you’re Michael, Anna or Thomas as these three are still going strong forty odd years later.

Below are the names that were big back in 1964 – not so much in 2014.
