Before digital cameras, we hear you say?
We're talking about the days when you'd take a photo and not know what it looked like only for the quick glance you had through the lens. God forbid an unsuspecting hand got in the way.
You would then return from your holidays/day trip/adventure with the camera and tuck the roll away neatly back into its little black cylinder until some seven months later when you'd remember to get the film developed.
Opening up the paper envelope to look at your photos was an event in itself... and the despair when you'd realise only four of your snaps were worth printing out was a whole new kind of low.
But then, to complete our short history of photography, along came the digital camera and, later again, the camera phone.
A lot of us now regard "taking photos" as a hobby. We're at it all day long: Instagramming photos, uploading snaps to Facebook, tweeting images from our phones...
Does anyone remember the photos we never would have taken before digital cameras?
We clocked our heads together and thought of a few...
1. Selfies
Just tilt the head back, to the side or slightly down... and pap a photo of yourself. That's a selfie. Generally taken before a big night out, just in case the mirror missed anything.

2. Random Shots Of Body Parts
My feet on the sand. My hand holding a cup of coffee. My legs hanging over a pier. I am taking these photos of myself, therefore I am.
3. Notes To Self
A quick photo of the flour you've to buy in the supermarket, a snapshot of the carpark number you've parked the motor up near...
4. Things You Own
Books, notebooks, computer mouse, glasses, vodka bottle, lamp...just photos of the things you own and if you can add an Instagram filter, even better.
5. Food
Ugh, enough. Basically photos of anything you're about to chow down on, just to let everyone know that you're filling your calorie allowance for the day.

6. Tickets
Concert tickets, tickets for the bus you got to meet your friend, plane tickets, all sorts of tickets. They're very photogenic.
7. Things To Share On Facebook
Anything you spot that will guarantee you twenty or more likes, you take a quick snap and upload. A funny sign? Perfect.
8. The Sky
We're all guilty of this one. Maybe it's because a blue sky in Ireland is such a rarity...?

9. Artistic Shots
A door, a dog staring out the window, a shovel leaning against the wall, the contrast of a clean car tyre against the grass... with a camera phone, we've all become Monets of the modern photography world.

10. More Than One
Have you ever just taken one shot with your camera phone? Two, three or even four is preferable, just so you can pick the best one later.
11. Before And After Photos
Whether it's before or after a big race, a swim at the beach, a baking session, a drinking session... before and after photos are just great.
12. Pets
We would have taken photos of the little guys before, but now we can take MULTIPLE snaps of our beloved pets.

13. Stuff You Want To Buy
Seen a dress in River Island that's cute? Why not just take a photo of it, get an opinion from the girlies and you can always come back and buy it... handy.
