While we all know it takes two to tango (or you know, be in a relationship), sometimes the effort of keeping that spark alive can take its toll. Realistically, life can sometimes get in the way so would you be willing to try a small challenge to ‘drastically improve’ your relationship? One dating expert has adopted the 30 day challenge to help any couple re-connect and feel more in love than ever. Writing for mindbodygreen, Linda Carroll suggests that while communication is key, learning how to speak and act with one another is one of the deciding factors in how happy a relationship will be. So what are the rules of the 30 Day Relationship Challenge:

• Once a day, ask yourself: What is it about my partner’s actions, words, or behaviour that makes me feel grateful?
• Then once a day, ask yourself this second question: What can I do to show my appreciation?

Carroll recommends doing this every day for 30 days, and consider how you can show your affection in ways that will benefit both of you. While it might sound simple (or a little dumb), Carroll adds that taking the time daily to appreciate one another will make it part of your natural routine – meaning both sides feel more valued and respected. Explaining the benefits of the challenge, she writes: “The good news is this: we can teach ourselves to notice what’s good and working well in our connection with other people. “When we express our appreciation for those good qualities, we can even bring back some of those delicious feelings of amazement and luckiness that we felt when we first fell in love.”
