The back to school shopping could look a little different for Cork-based parents this year, if two Irish companies have anything to say about it. BundlBee, a small group of innovative mobile marketers, have teamed up with Cork based stationery company, Write Away to bring Irish shoppers the country’s first QR Code* Mobile Shopping Experiences. With the support of Premier Stationery, this campaign will be visible throughout the streets or Cork through the month of August and September.
This virtual shopping experience for the Cork-based stationery & craft store, uses QR codes on flyers, billboards, posters around Cork city centre.
This will allow consumers and Back to School shoppers to purchase stationery at their own convenience, to be either sent by post or picked up in the Maylor Street store at any time that suits.

QR code shopping is already very popular in Asia
The news is sure to please the 77% of Irish Internet users who access the Internet through mobile devices, as it may mark the beginning of a wave of similar initiatives.
The brains behind BundlBee would like to see the shop windows of vacant premises in our cities being used to promote businesses that might not be in prime location site in a city or in areas of great footfall.
The project launch takes place this Saturday August 10th from 12 noon till 3pm, when Patrick Street and Maylor Street junction will be a hive of activity for the launch of this unique promotion, which will run throughout the month of August and into September.
