This adorably festive Christmas proposal story will melt your heart

We're not crying, you're crying.

“True love always finds its way back around.”

‘Tis the season for all kinds of heartwarming tales of homecomings, family reunions, and proposals – but none have tugged on our heartstrings quite like this one.

A guy named Jeffery, who goes by @Music1996Man on Twitter, shared the heartwarming clip on social media earlier this week.

He explained that his parents had been married for over 20 years before they divorced, “fought a lot, when to work on themselves”.

Years later, Lorrie and Jeff Senior started dating again – before he proposed to her, again, just before Christmas.

The video, which has been viewed more than 6 million times, shows Lorrie opening her carefully wrapped Christmas gift: a lovely poem penned by Jeff Senior.

And as she reads through the poem, he stays knelt down in front of her – until she gets to the last line, when he shows her the ring (and thankfully, she said a very excited ‘yes’).

The clip quickly went viral on Twitter, where it has gotten almost 150,000 retweets and more than 550,000 likes.

Jeffrey later explained that the early Christmas celebrations came together after his little brother came home for the holidays from the army.

He added:

“My little brother just came home from the army, stationed 9 hours away.

“We had a family breakfast and did presents for the grandkids (my nieces and nephews) and then this! It’s hard to get all of us together, so we celebrate when we can.”
