This Dublin Wedding Weight Loss Competition Series Has A VERY Questionable Title

Unhealthy, much?!

Megan Cassidy

We all want to look and feel our best on our wedding day.

There’s no denying that health and fitness are important, and are often a big part of a bride’s prep ahead of the big day.

However a recent wedding competition launched by FrockAdvisor in which you can win a health and fitness regime has a VERY questionable title.

Ladies and gentlemen, may we present… Don’t Feed the Bride.

Tumbleweed.

The website reads:

‘LISTEN UP BRIDES-TO-BE! For our new series Don’t Feed The Bride, frockadvisor want you to feel AMAZING on one of the most special days of your life so we’re giving you the chance to WIN a healthy fitness regime and weight loss plan with certified expert fitness coach Mariano Hermosa.

To enter, brides-to-be need to send on a selfie complete with the hashtag #DFTB.

We get the play on words from the popular TV show, but are we the only ones slightly worried about the message this title (and social media hashtag) sends?

Wedding prep (and diets in general) should NEVER be about starving ourselves, but rather about nourishing ourselves with the foods our bodies love in order for them to function at their best (and yes, look great too).

There’s already enough pressure on brides, and women in general, to conform to unrealistic standards of beauty, do we really need this message?

Or maybe we need to lighten up?

Tell us what you think.
