This Has to Be The REAL Santa

This shopping centre Santa started signing to a deaf child

Cassie Delaney

A young girl in Middlesbrough visited the Cleveland Shopping Centre to tell Santa what she’d like for Christmas.

However, in a short clip uploaded to YouTube by British photographer Mark Pinder, the child’s mother is heard explaining that the young girl can’t talk very well.

When Santa asks if the child can sign, the mother replies that she has basic sign language and can sign animals and things like that.

Santa then begins engaging with the child through sign. It’s a beautiful moment full of Christmas magic and emotion and one that proves Santa is real – in our humble opinion.

The shopping centre posted the clip on their Facebook page writing: “this truly captures the spirit of Christmas we feel at the Cleveland Centre whenever Santa visits!”

Pinder told The Daily News that Santa is gifted in many languages. He has heard him saying “hello, thank you, good bye, yes and no” in several different languages.

“It was a beautiful moment, the elves and on-lookers all welled up,” Pinder added. “It touched us all and made a little girl’s Christmas.”
