This Irish subscription box is a dream come true for book lovers

Keeley Ryan

As the weather gets colder, one of our favourite things to do is curl up with a cup of tea and a good book.

After all, whether you can’t get enough of mystery novels or tales of romance, there’s nothing quite like a good book, is there?

Enter Books and Charms, an Irish subscription box that delivers fantastic new reads right to your doorstep.

Every month, they send out two secondhand books – as well as a number of other treats to enjoy. Each box includes a beverage or a snack to enjoy, as well as a few other small gifts that any reader would adore.

All of the gifts are sourced from small business which, for the most part, are based in Ireland.

And it’s pretty easy to get started: you just have to fill out a brief survey about your reading preferences – namely, your favourite authors and your preferred genres.

From there, you decide how long you would like to subscribe for.

There are three price plans: €24.95 per month (or for a one-off box); €67.35 every three months (€22.45 per box); €123 every six months (€20.50 per box).

In the lead up to the holiday season, they are also offering a number of festive-themed packages as stocking fillers.

The Book Stocking Filler (€10) includes one book as well as a “bookish gift chosen at random” – and each one will be wrapped up in Christmas paper.

There’s also the Children’s Stocking Filler, which – for €15 – contains four children’s books chosen at random.
