This Weekend, You… Should Have An Amazing Brunch

Weekends should always start on a good foundation!

Here at Her.ie, we love our food and one of our favourite things to do at the weekend is have a lazy lie-in and then head for a serious brunch.

Brunch, in our humble opinion, is the king of meals as it means you can have loads of lovely breakfast foods, it’s usually late enough to have a sneaky Bloody Mary and it gives you an opportunity to catch up with the girls for a laugh and a good gossip. Whether you are a full Irish kind of girl or craving a stack of pancakes, there are a ton of fabulous places around Ireland to ‘do brunch’ so here are our picks.

In Dublin, Odessa has developed a serious reputation as the place to head for your leisurely feed but it gets very busy so make sure to head early! Another favourite of ours is the Boozy Brunch at The Morgan, whose philosophy is summed up in the phrase ‘Brunch without booze is just a sad, late breakfast’. We couldn’t agree more so head here for a dish of yummy Eggs Benedict and an Espresso Martini to give you ‘the cure’ after a late night!

Galway also holds its own in the brunch stakes and Kelly’s leads the way due to its great menu and adventurous dishes. Try the Chorizo and Red Pepper Hash or if you are really starving, take on the Steak, Eggs and Home Fries – yum!

If you’re down south, the place to be for Saturday brunch is Fenn’s Quay. Located on Sheares Street in Cork City, this restaurant has a fabulous selection of options from Boiled Eggs and Soldiers to Rosscarbery black or white pudding, red onion confit and smoked Gubbeen Cheese.

Now, if you’re excuse us, we’re off to book a table but if you’ve found a great brunch spot, share the love and let us know in the comment section below!
