The three signs that show you’re ready to find ‘love’

Cathy Donohue

The perfect formula?

While we’re never going to figure out the exact science to finding love, expert tips are definitely useful when it comes to matters of the heart.

The latest advice comes courtesy of clinical psychologist Ken Page, who recently penned Deeper Dating, and he’s of the opinion that there are three signs which can show if one is ready to commit to ‘real love’.

In a recent piece for Women’s Health, Ken explained the signs he thinks show someone is ready to settle down.

  1. The first is that you’re not attracted to people who can’t commit and lose all interest in ‘dead-end’ dating. At this point, you’re searching for a lasting union that might actually go the distance, as scary as that might sound.
  2. Simply put, you don’t run scared anymore. Although previously, you might have freaked out at the thought of a relationship that might last longer than five minutes, now you’re all about it. This is a glaring sign that you’re done with casual hook-ups and want something more serious.
  3. When you allow yourself to be you. This sounds ridiculously cheesy but hey, this is a relationship guru is the know. Ken notes that when we put on a facade “we are less successful in attracting the very people who would accept and treasure us for who we are”. Allowing your individuality to shine through is ultimately what will allow you to find a partner who knows you inside out and loves you more for it.

While it’s never going to be as simple as answering yes to the above and suddenly meeting your soulmate out of the blue, this wouldn’t be the first expert to suggest that you have to be ‘ready’ to accept love before it can happen.
