Turns out we’ve all been cutting limes wrong this whole time

Laura Holland

We’re definitely going to try this.

When it comes to cutting a lime, most people would cut it in half and then cut slices from there. It’s the most straightforward and common way to do it. Especially when it’s for serving with a drink.

But, apparently, that’s the completely wrong way to do it, if you’re looking to get all the juice out.

Reddit user Regularoldballoon has shared the actual way to cut a lime and it’s very different to how we do it. They noticed instructions on the bottom of a box of limes and which read:

“To obtain the most juice first slice in three parts. Then cut the middle part in three sections.

That way you’ll get 100% of the juice.”

We’re not sure though, it looks like this new way could be very messy.
