Save money and do some good for the world around you by using simple measures to conserve energy in the home. If you’re not sure where to start - don’t worry! We’ll be brining you one great energy-saving tip every day for the next month.
7. Use the microwave
You come home from the office after a long day and the last thing you feel like doing is cooking a massive meal. The good news is that you have some leftovers in the fridge. Brilliant!
Rather than re-heating your leftovers in the oven, save yourself some money and help the environment by using a microwave or a toaster oven to cook/warm up your leftovers.
Why should you do this? Well you see microwaves and toaster ovens actually use less energy than cooking with a conventional gas or fan assisted oven. When an appliance uses less energy, it means that you’ll end up spending less money overall when it comes to forking out for your electricity bill every single month.
So you get to enjoy a lovely, delicious meal that requires minimal effort to prepare and heat up, and you’ll end up saving some money. That’s what we like to hear!
Up your energy/money saving game by using the microwave whenever you can to heat up and/or cook delicious meals for yourself and your family.
