You can say a lot with a heart. Introducing a new way to show how you feel on Twitter: https://t.co/WKBEmORXNW pic.twitter.com/G4ZGe0rDTP

Twitter has said that the gold star "confused people" and a statement announcing the change read "you might like a lot of things, but not everything can be your favourite".
Discussing the new feature, a Twitter spokesperson read: "The heart, in contrast, is a universal symbol that resonates across languages, cultures, and time zones.
"The heart is more expressive, enabling you to convey a range of emotions and easily connect with people. And in our tests, we found that people loved it".
Twitter's live streaming video app, Periscope uses hearts as a way of allowing users to show that they like a video so the new change isn't really that surprising.
Judging by the tweets so far, people don't seem too happy.
Rubbish. Hearts are for Instagram. Stars are for Twitter. The rules! https://t.co/t21G4RraQc
