Social networking site Twitter changed all that, and turns seven years old today.
The first tweet, published by @jack on the site on this day in 2006, read "just setting up my twttr"... sure what else would it say, there was no one else there to talk to.
Since then, the site has grown enough to attract 200 million active users and an incredible 400 million tweets are sent every day.
To mark the occasion Twitter have posted this two-minute video on YouTube, looking back over the story so far.
