So it must be said that Rozie the elephant is quite the impressive expectant mother, keeping up her daily pregnancy Pilates at the Albuquerque Zoo in New Mexico.
Rozie’s regime was suggested by zoo vets as a way to strengthen her leg muscles, so they are more flexible for labor. Elephants have a longer gestation period than any other mammal, so Rozie will have been carrying her calf for approximately two years when she gives birth sometime between August and November.
