The next few days are going to get very cold.

FREEZING.

The cold snap has well and truly started and judging from the most recent forecast, it’s only going to get more bitter as the week continues.

Met Éireann has issued a status yellow wind warning from 10pm tonight until 10am tomorrow morning and it relates to four counties: Donegal, Mayo, Leitrim and Sligo.

According to the national forecaster, “strong and gusty westerly winds will develop tonight and will be up to gale force in some northern and northwestern areas”.

In addition, a second weather warning has been issued for the entire country extending from 6pm Wednesday to 12pm Saturday, accounting for the expected fall in temperature.

During this time period, you can expect extremely cold weather including “wintry showers continuing in the West and North with widespread frost and ice”.

The majority of the snow is expected in Ulster, Connacht, north Leinster and west Munster, particularly inland and on higher ground.

I can feel the chill already.
