After three and a half months of trekking up and down from Newry everyday,
Grace has finally settled in to her new abode. Her new home is only a few minutes walk away from the Her towers, (something that she likes to slip into conversation whenever she gets the chance). Rather than rush for a train home on Tuesday evening, Grace headed over to Whelan's for the start of the venue's 25th Birthday celebrations, where she enjoyed good food thanks to Opium restaurant, a few sociable drinks and of course, great music.
We are all looking forward to huge anniversary gigs this year from Sinéad O'Connor, Hansard, The Coronas, James Vincent McMorrow and Damien Dempsey.
When Rebecca Met Amy...
This week
Rebecca got to meet the very lovely and super stylish Amy Huberman (yes, the rest of us were rather jealous). As well as Amy’s involvement in this year’s Bord Gáis Energy Student Theatre Awards, the girls had a good old chinwag about babies and Disney Princesses. They also took this very smiley snap...
1c Coffee from Centra
Centra had a 1c coffee offer running on Monday and were kind enough to drop in coffees and a selection of pastries to our offices. As a coffee and indeed pastry obsessive,
Cathy was delighted to get such a kind treat on a cold Monday morning.
Girls Run The World
This week,
Sue and
Michelle started their training for a new Lifestlye Sports challenge, Girls Run the World. Over the next 12 weeks, they will be training with Peter Kern from PB3 Training in order to get ready for a 10k race at the end of April. Sue and Michelle will be blogging their training for the next 3 months.
Seeing Red
Úna’s currently on a Ciaté varnish binge, testing out the various colours for her nails. This week she’s gone for a sunset red colour and she’s loving it!
Feel Good, Do Good
Rebecca is all about getting fit and doing good deeds. One event that combines both of those things and has caught her attention is the ‘Challenge the Greenway’ which is in aid of Cystic Fibrosis West. They’re hoping to raise €1.3 million to build a specialised day care unit at Mayo General Hospital for cystic fibrosis sufferers. It takes place in March though so she’d need to get prepping!
A Good Read
Sue has got back into reading books in a big way over Christmas but this week she has started Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, which she wants to get finished before the Fincher film. Her latest recommendation is the lovely Water for Elephants.
And Another One...
Cathy had heard lots of good things about author Jojo Moyes and
Michelle kindly lent her 'Me Before You' tis week. She recommends it as an absolutely brilliant read and said it's rare to get a book that makes you laugh out loud even when you're close to crying. She can't praise this enough, a must-read.
Pamper party for one?
Michelle is off today and is currently on the road to Inchydoney Spa Hotel for some long awaited pampering. After a January of no booze/carbs/chocolate/caffeine and watching the pennies, she is very much looking forward to chilling out in the gorgeous surroundings and relaxing the diet a little while she's there..
When life gives you lemons...
Still working on her health kick,
Úna's drinking mountains of lemon and ginger tea. Not only is it refreshing but it helps boost energy circulation in the body. Mmmm delish.
