Welcome to the Weekend!
Another Friday rolls around! We’re hoping you enjoyed the four day week and have some big plans in place for the weekend – here are ten things that put a smile on our faces this week…

Chris Hadfield's Pictures.
Let's be clear, we don't like this stormy snap in particular - bad weather times ahead, but Chris is our new favourite person on Twitter. Follow him here.
Choons!
Fear not un-updated iPod, we've recently discovered the wonderful Maud In Cahoots. We’re especially loving this tune… thoughts?
People's Republic of Cork
Our Cork gal Denise is delighted to see that the Cork Rebel Passport is finally here! Sign up as a true Corkonian here and you'll receive your very own passport proving you're "Cork boi" through and through. Cork Rebel Week will be held in, you guessed it, Cork, between October 14th and 20th and is one of The Gathering's biggest events.
Tea, anyone?
Our tea fiend Rebecca was awestruck to see this story this week. The world's largest tea bag. One tea bag = over 100,000 cups of tea. What's not to love?

A night for Christy
Rebecca says: "The Olympia Theatre's gig to show support for Aslan's Christy Dignam is a fantastic idea. It's brilliant to see some of the country's greatest music acts come together for such a good cause." Find our more: A Night For Christy.

Pizza Party
Denise believes she tasted the best pizza in town this week when she headed to Skinflint to meet up with a few college friends. Hawaiian can't be the safe go-to choice in this joint on Crane Lane, as all the pizzas are creatively named Suzie, Viv, Breda etc...
A must-taste? The chilli honey in the centre of each table. Pizza will never be the same again... Check out Skinflint here.
The Lion King
Amy is the latest Her.ie staffer on a Lion King buzz. She's off to see it tonight, and counting the minutes! We fully expect her to come back in with cuddly toys by the bucketload on Monday. Read our review here.

Live Long and Prosper
Our resident trekkie Sue is particularly happy that Star Trek is back in cinemas, although she wasn't as excited about Into Darkness as she was about the first film in 2009. Still, any excuse to scream Live Long and Prosper at random people.
Cloud10 Beauty Buys
We're big fans of cult beauty brand DuWop. You migh have heard of their famous Venom, but if you want to try out some other products then Her.ie Ed Michelle has a suggestion! The folks at Cloud10Beuty are offering a free DuWop Try Me Kit worth €45 with a purchase of any DuWop product while stocks last. The kit includes deluxe trial sizes of the following products: DuWop Prime Venom, DuWop Venom Gloss Lantana, DuWop Venom Gloss Wisteria, DuWop Private Red Lipstick, DuWop Lip Venom Original and finally DuWop Lip Venom Pink Shimmer. All the single hotties, all the single hotties...
