Welcome to the Weekend!
Another Friday rolls around! Here are ten things that put a smile on our faces this week…

These Are a Few of Our Favourite Things
“The Button and Bow Factory have a great range to choose from at the moment including end of summer sale items,” says Rebecca, a self-confessed jewellery addict. “My personal favourites are the Aisling Statement necklace and the Gold Love Bracelets. I love combining traditional jewellery with more quirky, vintage pieces.”

Celebrate Good Times, Come On!
You may have heard us mention once or twice that we here at Her.e HQ are big fans of cake. So, you can imagine how excited we were when our week started with two AMAZING cakes being delivered to the office. These beauties are from CakesOnline.ie, and no, there is none left. Nom.

Bookworm alert!
This week Úna finished the fourth book of “A Song of Ice and Fire” series, better known on television as Game of Thrones. Since starting at Her.ie, she’s managed to plough through about 4000 plus pages of the epic adventure. “They’re by far the best fantasy books I’ve read in a long time, I can’t pull my eyes away from the pages!” she says.

Strypes = Stars
Earlier today Her.ie Editor Michelle headed over to Henry Street for the official reopening of HMV, which included a performance by rising stars The Strypes. The Cavan youngsters played to a packed-out Electric Arena at EP last weekend, and they’re only going to get bigger and better. We nabbed them for a little chat too and we’re happy to report they’re proper gentlemen.
Her.ie gal, Grace, hasn’t decided what she loves this week because she is holding out for a hero. Grace has begun a nationwide search in order to find ‘Her Hero of the Week’, and she needs your help.
How can you help? Send an image of someone you think is an absolute hero, and if we agree, your entry will get a very deserving and honoured place as ‘Her Hero of the Week’, which will be posted every Sunday.
The picture can be anything, a nice gesture from your boyfriend (providing you have one), a text from your Dad or friend, or even someone lovely you happen to meet on the street. Surprise us!
Send your potential Her Heroes to [email protected] or use the #HerHeroOfTheWeek on Twitter… until then, Grace will have this Bonnie Tyler classic on repeat.
Do You Wanna Be On Top?
“I have been addicted to Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model so I have no idea what I’m going to do on Thursday nights now that it’s finished,” says Rebecca who was disappointed to see Irish lass Sarah Kennedy lose last night’s final. “It really has been one of the best series so far.”

‘I’m a 29-year-old woman and my income would shock my friends if it was made public’
In this edition of Her Money Diaries, we meet Gigi from Galway City, whose family lost all their money in the recession Welcome back to Her Money Diaries, our new financial series that discusses the money woes and wins of the woman of Ireland.
