We knew his time on the show would eventually come to an end but we had always hoped it would be after he lifted the Glitterball trophy!
That’s right, Nicky Byrne has been voted off Strictly Come Dancing. And yes, we’re also distraught about it.
Nicky and Karen were up against Denise and James yesterday evening.
The singer and his professional dance partner Karen Hauer found themselves in the bottom two last night, for the second week running, but this time they were up against favourite Denise Van Outen and James Jordan.
Despite Nicky and Karen putting on an impressive performance, all of the judges decided to save Denise and James who had never been in the dance-off before.
Unlike previous weeks, the celebrities and their professional dance partners had to do a dance fusion which meant combining two different dance styles in one song.

The former Westlife star bowed out of the competition gracefully.
Speaking on the show about his experience the former Westlife star said: “It has been just so much fun. It is the biggest and best show in the world… it’s just been amazing.”
Denise will now join Olympian Louis Smith, actress Dani Harmer and Girls Aloud’s Kimberley Walsh (who scored the first 40 of this year’s series on Saturday night) in the semi-finals next weekend.
So while it might not involve our favourite contestant, we have a feeling that the next two weeks of Strictly will still be worth tuning into. Keep watching!
