Her most famous role is that of an overbearing mother, and now Malcom in the Middle star Jane Kaczmarek will play another one.
The actress, most famous for playing Lois on the Fox sitcom from 2000 to 2006, has landed the role of Pam in the US remake of hit BBC show Gavin & Stacey.

Pam, mother of Gavin, was played by Alison Steadman in the original version of the series, created by James Corden and Ruth Jones.
Corden and Jones will both serve as exec producers on the remake, which has been renamed Friends & Family for American audiences.
The leads in the series have already been cast, with Gilmore Girls actress Alexis Bledel and Parenthood’s Jason Ritter set to play the central characters.
The Fox series is currently in pre-production and the first episodes are due to be screened later this year.
