Why You Should Visit… Clare

While we love a good trip across the seas, the reality is that we live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world so we decided to take a moment and appreciate some of the fantastic spots on this fair isle. From Donegal to Dublin, we are taking an all-Ireland cyber roadtrip to find out what makes each county unique and highlight a few hidden gems that only the locals might know about. This week, the spotlight is on the lovely Banner County...Clare! They may not have revisited their All-Ireland glory this year but there's still a lot to be said for this picturesque spot... although with two Banner ladies on the Her.ie team, we couldn't really say anything different! From surfing to matchmaking, there is something for everyone in Clare but our pick of the bunch is 'Willie Week' or the Willie Clancy Festival as it is otherwise known. Taking place in Milltown Malbay, this is ostensibly a celebration of the greatest trad that the West has to offer but even if you're not a diehard music fan, there is some serious craic to be had. Tell them we sent you! Of course, no-one knows Clare like the natives themselves so here's what you all had to say!
