Woman asked to leave apartment pool because of her swimsuit

Cathy Donohue

Tori Jenkins, who lives in Knoxville, Tennessee, was reportedly asked to leave the swimming pool of the apartment where she lives because of her swimsuit.

Frustrated with the situation, her fiancé Tyler Newman shared details of the incident to Facebook, saying that Tori was asked to either “cover up” and wear shorts or leave the pool.

According to Tyler, Tori was asked to change her swimsuit because it was a “thong” style and she was told there had been complaints about her outfit.

Understandably upset at this treatment, Tori decided to go to the apartment’s management office where she discussed the situation with the leasing consultant who proceeded to tell her that she was at risk of “exciting teenage boys”.

We can see why Tyler and Tori were riled up at the outcome of this incident and Tyler explained his reason for posting about it.

“My fiancée being told she should cover up on a 90 degree day in our own apartment pool because she will “excite teenage boys” is bullshit. I will not stand for this.

“My fiancée should be able to wear a bathing suit without being sexualized and demeaned. She shouldn’t feel violated. I will make a live video of my personal opinion and reasons why this is unnecessary soon”.

Tori later shared a post from her own Facebook account thanking people for their support and also said that she wanted to clarify a few things.

People had asked why she Tyler hadn’t included a full-frontal snap of the swimsuit and Tori explained that originally he did but she removed it because of “hateful comments” about her stomach and “so many intensely explicit sexual comments”.

She then explained why she wrote the post because it seems some were taking the wrong message from what she and Tyler had shared.

“The ENTIRE POINT of this post is that no man or woman has the right to make me feel uncomfortable in my own skin. No right to police me or any other human”.
