A woman’s abdominal pains turned out to be a massive cat hair ball

It's a lesson for all cat owners.

This will make you rethink letting the cat sleep in the bed with you.

A woman who owns two cats has spoken about how she one time went to the doctor with abdominal pain only to realise she had a TWO INCH cat hair ball inside her vagina.

How you ask? Simple, she let her cats, Donut and Cricket, sleep in her bed. She explained the whole situation and her theory behind how the cat hair got up there in the first place.

Michelle Barrow explained in an article on XOJane that she was suffering from pains in her abdomen so she went to the gynecologist thinking it was an issue with her form of contraception that she used.

She was using the IUD contraceptive coil and although she was used to some pain in her vagina from time to time she decided to check it out. The doctor said that ovarian cysts might be causing the pain so she decided to have a quick look and see if there was anything obviously wrong, but once she started looking Michelle said the Doctor muttered, “What is that? I’ve never seen anything like that. What the heck IS that thing?”

After asking Michelle if she wore tampons to which she responded, “sometimes”, the doctor updated her on what she thought it was saying, “It looks like some fibers from a tampon have gotten tangled up with your IUD strings. I’m going to try to tease it out but this will be tricky because if I pull too hard then it will expel your Paragard.”

This all seemed normal enough but once it proved more difficult to remove and after a nurse had joined the situation and also was baffled by what was caught ‘up there’, Michelle knew something strange was going on.

Eventually, the doctor was able to cut the foreign object free and offered for Michelle to see it. Being inquisitive she agreed and while the doctor was holding up what Michelle described as “a glob about 2 inches long that looks distinctly furry” she realised it was the exact same colour as her cat Donut.

At that exact moment Michelle is mentally screaming:

“HOLY SHIT THAT IS CAT HAIR THERE HAS BEEN A BALL OF CAT HAIR INSIDE ME FOR A MONTH THAT IS CAT HAIR AND IT WAS IN MY VAGINA A HAIRBALL HAS BEEN CAUSING MY DISCOMFORT HOLY SHIT AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”

Too embarrassed to come clean with the doctor, she decided to leave without saying anything about the cats. She added in the article a conclusion as to how it got up her vagina in the first place and it’s a lesson for all cat owners.

She said:

“My theory is that our sheets are to blame: I’m not very good at making the bed every day so Cricket and Donut have free reign. My fiance and I don’t use condoms so it’d be easy for him to unknowingly have some hair on his penis and during sex it’d be easy for that hair to migrate to my strings where everything got all tangled up.”
