Woman’s story about old man being helped count change is heartwarming

See, not all people are bad.

Jade Hayden

old man

This is lovely.

There are few things in this world that can actually bring a smile to our faces these days.

Things are so awful, people are so mean, and everything’s just pretty much the grimmest it’s ever been.

Sometimes it seems like there’s absolutely no goodness left in the world at all.

That may be an exaggeration, but it’s probably not all that far off the mark, to be honest.

There is one thing, however, that has (somehow) managed to warm our cold and broken hearts.

And it’s this photo of a supermarket worker helping an old man count his change at the till and the accompanying Facebook post that goes with it.

It’s the simple things, you know?

Spring Bowlin from Mississippi shared the image on her Facebook page and it’s already got 99,000 likes so you know it’s gonna be good.

The caption explains that Spring was shopping in her local Walmart when she saw an old man get “flustered” with the change he had taken out of his pockets.

However, instead of getting frustrated like so many people are wont to do, this cashier helped the man.

Spring, who was behind the man in the queue, wrote:

“He miscounts and starts to get flustered. Gives me a muttered, “I’m so sorry.” His hands and voice are shaking.

“This beautiful cashier takes his hands and dumps all the change on the counter and says, “This is not a problem, honey. We will do this together.” He continues to apologize to both of us as we reassure him it’s ok. They get his transaction handled and he shuffles away.

“I looked at this wonderful woman and said, “Thank-you for being so patient with him.”

“She shakes her head and replies, “You shouldn’t have to thank me, baby. What’s wrong with our world is we’ve forgotten how to love one another.”

“I want to be more like her.”

So do we, Spring.

So do we.
