‘In a world where you can be anything, be kind’ – today’s podcast is different from the rest

Denise Curtin

After taking a break on Monday, our Love Island podcast returned today.

In respect to the late Caroline Flack who sadly passed away on Saturday, we felt it was best to cancel the recording and take some time to digest the news.

For years Caroline was an integral part of the show we all love and adore, and to quote Iain Stirling, she has now “slow motion walked into heaven”.

Returning on Monday night, Love Island paid tribute to Caroline, speaking about how her “passion, warmth and infectious enthusiasm were a crucial part of what made this show connect with millions of viewers.”

And we’re proof of that. We’re proof of her impact.

Today, we wanted to pay tribute to Caroline and look at how every single one of us can make her impact lasting – by looking at ourselves and how we act online.

It’s most certainly long overdue but now is a time to be introspective and look inwards at our own actions and how we fall into this situation.

In the words of Laura Whitmore, who spoke about her late friend on her BBC Radio 5 Live show, “the problem wasn’t the show, the show was loving, caring and safe and protective. The problem is, the outside world is not.”

Today’s show is also titled after a quote posted on Caroline Flack’s Instagram account which reads…

“In a world where you can be anything, be kind.”
