Yesterday was World Kindness Day and Lady Gaga did something really special

Amy Nolan

We love her for this.

Mass evacuations began to take place last Sunday following the outbreak of wildfire in California. The blaze broke out in the Hill Canyon area in the south of California and spread quickly due to 25-30mph winds.

The 2018 wildfire season in the state has been one of the most destructive on record and the scale of the damage is yet to be fully observed.

Yesterday, Liam Hemsworth took to Instagram to reveal the devastation caused to the home he and Miley Cyrus share.

It’s been a heartbreaking few days. This is what’s left of my house. Love. Many people in Malibu and surrounding areas in California have lost their homes also and my heart goes out to everyone who was affected by these fires. I spent the day in Malibu yesterday and it was amazing to see the community pulling together to help each other out in any way they can. Malibu is a strong community and this event is only going to make it stronger. Thankful for the all the great local guys that helped keep smaller fires out around my property. I love u guys. I love you Malibu. Thank you to all the hero firefighters around California. It’s going to be a journey to rebuild. Stay strong all. To help/donate visit @malibufoundation and @happyhippiefdn

With 52,000 people having been evacuated, the American Red Cross is doing their utmost to help those in need.

Yesterday was World Kindness Day and Lady Gaga, herself forced to flee her Malibu home, did something really special to help those in one shelter in California.

She brought pizza, coffee and gift cards for those temporarily living in the shelter.

Speaking on her Instagram Stories, Lady Gaga said that World Kindness Day is “her favourite day of the year” and encouraged her followers to do something kind, “even if it’s for yourself.”

The singer also posted an emotive picture thanking the Red Cross for their extraordinary work.

The Daily Mail also reported that during her visit, Lady Gaga,

“Spent about 90 minutes at the shelter. She took photos, handed out gift cards, and even sang to a 98-year-old woman who had been evacuated.”

It was an amazing gesture following such a terrible tragedy and we love her for it.
