EUGH.
Hotel getaways are the best: enjoying a bathroom that’s bigger than your kitchen at home, sleeping on a bed of fluffy clouds and walking around in a robe and slippers, just because you can.
However, it seems that there’s one item that you might want to avoid – the drinking glasses.
Apparently it’s something that can be neglected when staff members are cleaning the hotel rooms after guests have left.
According to Today, a hidden camera investigation at a Crown Plaza hotel in America revealed some rather horrible truths about said cleaning methods.
A member of staff reportedly collected all the water glasses and put them in the sink before (and wait for it) using one of the used bathroom towels to dry them.
Let’s all take a moment to absorb that.
If that’s not enough to contend with and to be honest, I’ve heard all I need to, ABC News previously conducted an investigation where they found glasses so dirty “they could pose a serious risk to your health”.
In many cases, they found the above to be true, that glasses were just wiped and put out for reuse although one person did use the same towel to ‘clean’ the glasses after wiping her hands.
Just lovely.
