Bake Fest is a family-centred event with a strong focus on re-installing traditions and time spent together when baking. These are values festival demonstrator Catherine Leyden also holds clear. She said: “Home baking has been my passion all my life – I first learned to bake from my grandmother and indeed my mother and this love of baking have stayed with me.
“For almost 40 years I have been the face of Odlums – encouraging and helping everyone to bake. Thankfully there is a big comeback recently to home baking and no doubt this will be clearly evident at Bake Fest Galway this October.”
If you do decide to drop by, prepare to be amazed by the spectacular cakes that will be on display in our competition area. You can also shop till you drop or if that's not your thing, you can watch some of the country’s top celebrity chefs at work in the Goodall’s Kitchen Theatre and book a demonstration with one of Ireland’s leading Sugarcraft experts in the Sugarcraft Academy.
One thing is for sure, it's going to be delightful... and delicious!
Bake Fest 2014 is a not for profit organisation and all proceeds will go to Ireland's national meningitis support and awareness charity ACT for Meningitis. Explore more on these topics:
