Last year the group embarked on the challenge of conquering a more 'mainstream' audience, something that seems to have paid off.
After a string of exciting live performances, garnering the lads a following from the European and American underground scene, they returned home to a sell-out three night residency in the Whelan's upstair room in November. The Mighty Stef are back at the famous Dublin venue on the 31st of January, and this time they're headlining Whelan's main room.
The band kicked off the year with a brand new track, 'Nightwatchman Of The Iveagh Flats', the second single from their fourth EP, Iveagh Flats.
Iveagh Flats was recorded early last year in Los Angeles, and produced by Queens Of The Stone Age's Alain Johannes.

The first single from the three-song EP, 'Vampire, Hold Me Tonight', was penned in the wake of the friend's death and is noted by the band as a, "reluctant but catchy pop single." A reluctantly catchy pop song that we happen to love.
For more info on the lads check out themightystef.net or follow all updates on band's official Facebook page and Twitter.
Tickets for their Whelan's gig on the 31st January can be purchased from Ticketmaster.ie and MCD.ie.
Until next week we'll leave you with another one of our favourites from the Mighty Stef, a beautiful acoustic version of 'A Song For A Blind Girl'.
