“In Love I Was Created And In Love Is How I Hope I Die” – Paolo Nutini’s Greatest Lyrics

He could sing anything and make it sound beautiful...

Her

It’s no secret that here in the Her.ie towers we have a lot of love for Scottish singer songwriter Paolo Nutini.

The 27-year-old brought the roof off Dublin’s Olympia Theatre at the end of March with two incredible gigs. He kicked the shows off with brand new funky soul track, ‘Scream’, reworked classics like ‘Jenny Don’t Be Hasty’ and ‘New Shoes’, before a beautiful rendition of Christy Moore’s, ‘Ride On’.

Concert goers were treated to exclusive new material, not to mention a superb encore performance of ‘Iron Sky’.

Nutini’s new album, Caustic Love, will hit the shelves here in Ireland April 11th and is available for pre-order now on iTunes here. We foresee an array of accolades coming Nutini’s way for this piece of musical genius.

You can also follow and play his official Irish Spotify playlist here.

In celebration of Paolo’s brand new record we take a few minutes to remember the reason we love the singer.

There’s no argument he could sing just about anything and make it sound beautiful, but here are our favourite lyrics from some of Nutini’s greatest tracks.

Candy

“Well I’m some stain there on your bed sheet, You’re my diamond in the rough.”

Nutini wrote this song after an argument with his girlfriend when he realised he was to blame. He once explained that it necessarily portray the state his relationship, it was nothing more than just one evening of defeat. “But that’s all a song has to be.”

Coming Up Easy

“It was in love I was created, And in love is how I hope I die.”

The lyrics convey Nutini’s fondness of weed, however it’s the final lines that are our favourite. A lovely way to finish this Sunny Side Up track.

Scream (Funk My Life Up)

“And I never heard the warning when I woke up in the morning. With my sunshine on a drip.”

This comeback track has catapult Nutini back into the limelight, ‘Scream’ is one of those songs that just about everyone can relate to. These two lines are taken from the second half of the funk soul track’s second verse. If you’ve ever woken up next to that someone special you will definitely understand what Nutini means here.

Better Man

“That girl makes me wanna be better.”

This romantic track is from Nutini’s new record and penned about falling in love. It’s simplicity is moving, poignant and beautiful. We only wish we could be that girl.

Paolo Nutini’s Scream (Funk My Life Up) is out now and you can pre-order the album here.
