Amazing news for Hozier this evening, with confirmation that he has been nominated at this year’s Grammy Awards.
The Wicklow musician has been named as one of the contenders in the Song Of The Year category for hit track Take Me To Church.
He faces tough competition for the accolade, with Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off, Sia’s Chandelier, Sam Smith’s Stay With Me and Meghan Trainor’s All About That Bass all nominated in the same category.
The last Irish artist to win a Grammy for Song Of The Year was U2, who picked up the award in 2006 for Sometimes You Can’t Make It On Your Own.
Manager Caroline Downey tweeted her excitement at the news earlier this evening.
