Lewis Capaldi sells out three major Irish shows in seconds

Jade Hayden

Fair play to him.

Lewis Capaldi is a deadly lad.

He’s talented. He’s funny. He’s got an insane social media following due to both of the aforementioned elements of his personality.

Basically, he’s a decent human being – so it makes sense then that his upcoming Irish shows sold out this morning at lightning speed.

The Scottish singer announced today that all three of his gigs – in Dublin, Cork, and Belfast – sold out “in seconds,” and that he was absolutely delighted by the news.

“ABSOLUTELY SPEECHLESS,” he wrote. 60,000 TICKETS JUST SOLD OUT IN IRELAND & N IRELAND IN SECONDS!!!!!!!!!!”

He then went on, not in caps: “not entirely sure how this happened to me, can’t tell u how buzzing I am to see all of you next year!”

Same, man. Same.

Capaldi is hitting up Dublin’s 3 Arena for two nights next year on Sunday 8 and Monday March 9 – gigs which pretty much sold out a long time ago.

However, he’s also got some other massive shows in Cork’s Independent Park on June 18, Belfast’s Ormeau Park on June 21, and Dublin’s Malahide Castle on the day before, June 20.

Basically, he’s going to be here a load next year and we’re only delighted to have him.

Capaldi’s upcoming gigs are part of a new tour in support of LIVELIVE, an initiative designed to support fans experiencing emotional difficulties who may have concerns about attending shows.

“I always get tonnes of messages from people online who have said they want to come to my shows but can’t because they’re struggling massively with anxiety or are just generally afraid they will have a panic attack during the show,” says Capaldi.

“I really wanted to put something in place to help those people feel comfortable and offer them support to allow them to experience the shows.”

On the ground assistance will range from meeting fans at the door, escorting them to their seats, and taking those who request it to a specially designated ‘escape space’ where they can have some chill time.

A great initiative.
