A 27-year-old woman has been killed in a car accident while driving to work.

Kathryn Jones left her boyfriend’s home in Donegal at 7am on Friday morning.

The Mirror reports that Gardaí are investigating whether Ms Jones may have “clipped a verge and over-corrected”, leading the car to hit the oncoming lorry.

The tragic accident happened in Drumkeen, 7km outside of Letterkenny.

Ms Jones, who was from Derry, had spent the night in Ballybofey with her boyfriend – local radio and events DJ Paddy Friel.
