7-year-old Irish girl in critical condition after being rescued from hotel pool in Spain

A 7-year-old Irish girl has been left fighting for her life after being rescued from a hotel pool in Spain.

The young girl was pulled from the water in Majorca, Spain after she got into difficulty.

The girl was then rushed to hospital after the near-drowning accident.

It is believed she is now in a critical condition in intensive care.

The young girl got into trouble in the pool shortly after 3pm on Monday, June 20th.

Local reports confirmed the girl remains in a critical condition. It is understood that she was on holiday with her family in Majorca. They were staying at the HYB Eurocalas Hotel in the east coast resort of Calas de Mallorca.

Emergency services rushed to the scene after the alarm was raised.

They had to perform CPR on the young girl after she went into cardiac arrest.

A spokesperson for the emergency services told the Irish Mirror:

“They performed CPR on her after pulling her out of the water because she had gone into cardiac arrest.

“Paramedics continued to try to revive her after reaching the scene and got her breathing again in the back of the ambulance.

“She was taken to Son Espases Hospital, but remains in a critical condition.”
