A new weather warning has just been issued for the entire country

When will it stop?!

Cathy Donohue

Brace yourself.

A new wind warning has just been issued for all of Ireland, coming into effect at 8pm this evening.

This warning is in place until 6am tomorrow morning so it’s going to be a very wild night out there.

National forecaster, Met Éireann, predicts:

“Southwest winds are expected to reach mean speeds of between 55 and 65 km/hr, gusting to 110 km/hr at times on Tuesday night”.

In addition to strong winds, heavy and persistent rain is expected tonight with the north and northwest set to get the worst of it.

Although tomorrow will start out much the same, conditions are expected to improve throughout the day, giving way to “bright spells and scattered showers”.
