Add us as a preferred source on Google »The parents of Aaron Hussain have been overwhelmed by the love and support of the public following their son's tragic death.
Their five-year-old son was tragically killed in a road accident when he was playing in their estate in Kilminchy, Portlaoise.
The harrowing road accident occurred on the afternoon of February 22nd.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the accident and rushed the young boy to Midlands Regional Hospital.
Aaron was sadly pronounced deceased a short time later.
His parents Irina Novikova and Taugir Hussain have thanked the public for their waves of support following Aaron's untimely death.
They issued a statement on social media following their son's tragic death.
As per The Irish Mirror, they stated:
"Our hearts are shattered, but we are overwhelmed by the love and support from all of you."
"We cannot express how much it means to us during this unimaginable time. It’s hard to believe how many lives our little Aaron touched in his five beautiful years.
"He was a child full of joy, kindness, and a heart bigger than words can describe.
"Though we are unable to respond to each of you, please know we see and feel your love.
"Thank you for holding us in your hearts as we try to navigate this heartbreaking reality," his parents said.
Gardaí launched an investigation following Aaron's death.
The female driver of the car, aged in his 40s was not injured in the incident.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in Kilminchy, Portlaoise, Co. Laois between 4:00pm and 5:00pm this afternoon are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
