An armed man has reportedly taken six people hostage at a kosher grocery store in Eastern Paris.

According to Sky News, shots were fired and at least one person has been wounded. The gunman is believed to be the suspect involved in the fatal shooting of a policewoman yesterday.

He has also been linked to one of the Kouachi brothers who are suspected of being the gunmen responsible for the Charlie Hebdo massacre.

Said and Cherif Kouachi are currently holed up in an industrial building near Charles de Gaulle airport. They are said to be holding a 26-year-old man hostage.

The authorities have surrounded the building and are trying to detain the suspects.

UPDATE (1.23pm): It is now being reported by AFP (Agence France-Presse) that at least two people have been killed in the hostage situation at the grocery store but this has been denied by France’s Interior Ministry.

A second suspect, a 26-year-old woman, has been identified as a second hostage-taker at the store.

UPDATE (3.30pm): The gunman has allegedly threatened to kill the hostages in the store if police storm the Kouachi brothers.
