It is believed the body lay undiscovered for three days.

As reported earlier today, Gardaí at Lucan in County Dublin, who had been investigating the disappearance of a teenager, discovered the body of a female.

Since then they have confirmed that the body is that of 14-year-old Anastasia Kriegel, who was last seen at St Catherine’s Park in the evening of Monday 14 May, and her family and the Gardaí had since issued an appeal for information on her whereabouts.

Gardaí stated that they are investigating all the circumstances of her death, and that the death is being treated as suspicious.

Furthermore, RTE News have reported that it is understood that she was found without her clothing and may have been beaten to death.

The body had been discovered in a disused farmhouse, and the area where the body was found has since been sealed off and the State Pathologist has conducted a preliminary examination of the scene.

Gardaí at Lucan are seeking witnesses or anyone with information to contact them directly.
