“Amber would do her best to help anyone in need.”

Amber Gibson’s brother has now been charged in connection with his 16-year-old sister’s murder.

Following his arrest, Connor Gibson will appear before Hamilton Sherrif Court, the Scotsman reports.

Amber went missing from the Hamilton area on Friday, November 26th. Police confirmed they had a man in custody earlier this week.

At the time, Detective Superintendent Raymond Brown said: “Her family and loved ones are understandably devastated by this untimely loss.

“Amber was a 16-year-old girl with her future in front of her.

“It’s imperative for us to understand the circumstances that led to her death, to not only provide her family with some answers but also to remove the person responsible from the community.”

Friends of Amber’s have remembered her as a caring friend who had “a heart of gold”.

One friend shared, “Amber would do her best to help anyone in need, never failed to put a smile on anyone’s face, and walked about loud and proud with a big grin and a face of joy.

“One strong girl and I will never forget her. I’m glad I got to have this bond with her.

They added: “Rest in peace Amber. You didn’t deserve this at all.”

Amber’s sister penned a heartfelt tribute to her sister. “My beautiful sister, words can’t describe how heartbroken we are.”

Her sister continued, “You were our little ball of ginger light from the beginning.”

Her sister said her smile lit up the room. She revealed that Amber’s “questionable singing” always made them laugh.

“We love you Amber always”.

The investigation into Amber’s untimely death is ongoing.
