It couldn’t last.
Many of us woke up today to a very different morning than the gloriously sunny ones we’ve become accustomed to.
Sadly, it seems we can expect a bad weekend weather-wise.
Met Éireann is forecasting a cloudy day today with “scattered outbreaks of rain, locally heavy, with a risk of thundery downpours,” though it shouldn’t be too chilly – temperatures could get to between 15 and 18 degrees.
Tomorrow should be a little better, with dry and bright start to the day and sunshine in places.
There’ll be some lingering rain in Ulster and north Leinster and a new band of rain will hit the south west coast by mid-morning. It’ll be windy and we can expect top temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees.
For Sunday, we’re set for a mix of sunshine and showers, though it’s set to get cloudier and windier throughout the day.
Inevitably, people on Twitter have been mourning the loss of the Irish summer.
