Chris Watts was still texting his mistress after murdering his family.

In new footage released by Fredrick Police Department, Chris Watts' mistress Nichol Kessinger revealed the final piece of correspondence she received from her ex-partner before he was found guilty of murdering his pregnant wife and two kids. After almost two and half hours while under police questioning, Kessinger says that after having sent what she thought was the final text between the two amid his family's disappearance back in August 2018, she received one more message before his confession ultimately came out. Trigger warning: subject matter and some footage may cause distress Credit: Fredrick Police Department, Colorado As you can see in the clip, Kessinger - who was having an affair with Watts' around the time he committed the unimaginable crimes - states that she warned that he would "ruin [their] life" had he done something bad, to he simply responded, "I didn't hurt my family, Nicky". Unfortunately, as we know, this turned out to be a bare-faced lie and Watts, now 36, eventually confessed while in police custody and was arrested for familicide; he is now serving five life sentences as well an extra 48 years without the possibility of parole and his guilty plea meant that he avoided the death penalty. As for Kessinger, her association with Watts meant that she had to go into hiding after abuse and even death threats from people who thought she knew about the killings and/or was involved. Speaking to a supposed ex-inmate at the Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun, Wisconsin, The Daily Mail claimed that the two have since been in contact after Kessinger was forced to move and has written to him under a new name.
