#Covid-19: Revolut partners with Irish Red Cross to help support volunteers and communities affected by coronavirus

Revolut is partnering with the Irish Red Cross to provide support for all of the volunteers and communities affected by coronavirus in Ireland.

Customers who use Revolut in Ireland will be able to donate via the in-app Donations feature to help those most in need.

With Ireland in the grip of the Covid-19 emergency, brave Irish Red Cross volunteers and staff have been called upon to help those on the front line who are battling to contain the crisis.

In the coming weeks and months volunteers will be assisting the National Ambulance Service with our fleet of vehicles, supporting communities with food drops and delivery services and, should they be required, helping with field hospitals.

The Irish Red Cross are playing a central role in supporting vulnerable and isolated people, while bravely assisting the emergency services, relieving National Ambulance Service staff of routine work and providing emergency medical technicians to work in NAS ambulances.

“During these turbulent times, it is deeply encouraging to see this massive wave of solidarity and we’re confident that our community of generous customers will appreciate the opportunity to donate and support those affected by COVID-19. We’re thankful that we could set up the partnership with the Irish Red Cross in a matter of days in order to help those who are affected, and look forward to working together to provide as much support as possible,” Nik Storonsky, Founder and CEO at Revolut said.

“We are delighted that Revolut has chosen The Irish Red Cross to be their Charity Partner. The Irish Red Cross is directly responding to COVID-19. Our brave volunteers are providing vital services in communities around the country and will be assisting the National Ambulance Service in their tireless work. Your donation will ensure that we can continue to help the most vulnerable people in Ireland. We need your donations now more than ever,” Jocelino Jorge, Head of Fundraising and Marketing at The Irish Red Cross added.

Revolut customers will be able to donate via the in-app Donations feature, which allows all users to round up their card payments and donate the difference to charity. Customers can also donate by setting up a recurring payment or making one-off donations.

One hundred percent of the amount donated by customers goes to The Trussell Trust, with Revolut charging no fees to donate. There is no minimum donation amount and the feature can be turned on and off by customers at any time.
