Ireland’s first ever dedicated crisp sandwich café reportedly sold out of all stock within just two hours of opening.

The Belfast café Simply Crispy opened its doors yesterday to taste the crispy goodness snacks at 11am and by 1pm, everything was gone.

Speaking about the popularity of the pop-up shop, Andrew McMenamin said; “It’s a school thing, people remember it from their school days – it’s a classic and it’s old school.”

“It’s a bit of fun and we’re spinning Belfast positively – it’s Belfast baps from Kirk’s Bakery, it’s Nutty Crust, it’s Tayto. It’s local products, it’s local butter.

“I believe someone is actually in talks with Ulster Fry to open one in Dublin,” he added.
