Crowds Gather At Dublin’s Spire In Tribute To Murdered French Journalists

Crowds of people gathered at Dublin's Spire on O'Connell Street this evening in a touching tribute to those killed in France earlier today. Twelve people were murdered during an attack on the offices of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris this afternoon, with the massacre thought to have been sparked by the publication of cartoons deemed offensive to the Islam faith. Over 100,000 people have since taken to the streets of Paris to show solidarity with those targeted by the attack and to signal their support for freedom of speech. A Irish demonstration was also held tonight at 7pm in Dublin City Centre.
