The dog died after being left alone in temperatures of over 18 degrees.
Over the weekend, a dog (not pictured) was found dead in a locked car outside the Bloom festival in Phoenix Park, Dublin.
According to The Irish Times, people passing the abandoned dog alerted Gardaí after worrying for the dog's welfare.
It's claimed the dog was left locked in the vehicle for more than three hours and considering the hot weather over the weekend, it's no surprise the dog was found ill.
The dog was eventually discovered, alone and suffering in the car but shortly after it was brought to a nearby vet, the animal had to be put down.
A spokesperson for an Garda Síochána advised pet owners to be more vigilant of their furry friends in the hot weather.
"On a hot day you have to take responsibility for the animal in your care".
