Relative newcomer Senator Ted Cruz pipped Trump to the post, causing many people to question the business mogul's political ability and reliance on his celebrity status.
On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton has declared victory over rival Bernie Sanders, although she admitted it would be a close campaign. According to
CNN, Sanders is happy with the pace of his campaign, and still sees himself in with a strong chance of securing the Democrat nomination.
