Local bar staff were also commended for their bravery, when workers from a nearby pub reportedly used a ladder to help a woman escape from the apartment.
One bystander said: “The fast and calm response of bar workers nearby also to be commended. Quickly got a ladder to remove a lady from the first floor room in flames.”
Another added: “Amazing quick response from whomever those Hogan’s staff members were; fire brigade arrived at least 10 mins later, so who knows what would’ve happened otherwise.”
Closed roads in the area were later reopened once the fire was under control.
